Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's married said to be great after scandalous pictures emerge.

On Wednesday potentially damaging photos were leaked which showed Will Smith flirting with his lingerie-clad Focus co-star Margot Robbie in a photo booth. However it has been claimed that there are no problems in Will’s marriage to Jada Pinkett, despite the raunchy images.
‘Everything with them is great,’ a source told Us Weekly of the couple, who wedded16 years ago.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett's marriage is apparently not in trouble despite the fact that photos showing Will canoodling with Margot Robbie have been published
In the photos, printed in this week's issue of Star magazine, 23-year-old Margot lifts up her top to reveal her lacy white bra, as Will does the same behind her, pressing his bare chest against her back.
The Australian beauty looks up at the 45-year-old actor and suggestively pouts her lips.
In another shot, he pulls her towards him from behind, their face pressed close together side-by-side.
While the co-stars definitely look flirty in the photos, it has been alleged that the pair were simply having fun and despite suggestions otherwise, they did not lead to anything more.

These leaked photos were taken in a photo booth at a New Orleans party in October, Will pictured in NYC in August, Margot seen that same month in London
The pictures were apparently taken at a wrap party for the movie on the New Orleans set on October 25.
‘That was a photo booth on set that the producers got for everyone,’ the insider said. ‘It was the last day of filming and everyone was taking pictures.
‘They were just goofing around. Will is just like that. There's nothing more to it.’
A second source added: ‘They're not hooking up.’

Will plays a professional grifter in the movie, who gets romantically involved with Margot's character after taking her under his wing, pictured shooting a scene on Tuesday in New Orleans
It comes after Star's claims that an eyewitness told them: 'He wasn’t acting like a married man; he gave no signs that he was in a committed relationship,' an eyewitness told the publication.
'What kind of married man would go into a photo booth with a sexy 23-year-old girl and start to undress?'

A further source has claimed to another publication that the photos were taken as part of production of the movie they are starring in together.
'These pictures were commissioned by production,' the insider told E! News. 'The entire cast and
crew saw them taken.

Jada wasn't present at the bash when the snaps were allegedly taken on October 25, and was instead speaking at a charity event in Baltimore.

'When we did our audition together, we had a natural chemistry,' Margot previously said of her co-star. 'I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.'
Will plays a professional grifter in the drama, who gets romantically involved with Margot's character after taking her under his wing.

The flirty new pictures were taken at a crew party after shooting had wrapped for the day.
An eyewitness told Star that Margot asked Will to step into the photo booth with her.
'Once they pulled the curtain back to take the pictures, they let their inhibitions run wild, laughing, hugging and nuzzling each other in the dark,' the insider said.
'Margot directed Will before each pose. First she ordered him to act like a gangster. Then she covered her face with a masquerade mask and leaned into his chest. Next, she asked Will to take a sexy picture with her, as she pulled up her shirt and exposed her lingerie for Will and the camera.
'They were hanging all over each other, laughing like they were a new couple in love,' the source continued. 'Will had just gotten done working for the day, so he definitely wasn’t intoxicated in any way — he knew what he was doing.'

The duo didn’t wait for their photos to be printed, although Will’s assistant apparently confiscated them, reports the magazine.

They didn't seem to care if anyone saw them do this. Then they took off, giggling, with her riding on his back, holding him tight with her head resting on his neck and back as they headed toward the
trailer.'
'Will and Margot never showed up back on set or attended the night’s festivities with the rest of the crew,' the insider revealed.
'After they left the party, they were gone all night.'
Meanwhile, Will and Jada haven't been photographed together since they were in New York City with their children on August 23.
And Jada has issued a few odd statements lately.
On October 23, she told the audience at the Associated Black Charities of Baltimore Girls’ Night Out Event, 'When you are going through a storm with your spouse... stop thinking about what you "believe" a husband or wife should be.'
'I thought success would make me happy … It does not,' Jada also reportedly said.
She also stepped out without her wedding ring on Monday night at a gala in New York City.
And last month, the Smiths listed their $42 million Southern California residence.

PDP ready to kick off campaigns for Anambra governorship election.

The seat of Government of Nigeria would be temporarily moved to Anambra State on Saturday as President Goodluck Jonathan, his Deputy, Namadi Sambo, Senate President, David Mark and the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, are expected to lead the ruling party to officially kick off campaigns for PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Tony Nwoye.

Nwoye was on Monday re-confirmed as the authentic candidate of PDP in theNovember 16, 2013 Anambra State governorship election by the Supreme Court which upheld the judgment of the Court of Appeal , Port Harcourt.

Though the kick-off which would take place at the Holy Trinity ground in Onitsha is coming six days to the election, PDP members said they were ready for the election, adding that they had been doing their grassroots campaign, waiting for the court to confirm their candidate.

Meanwhile, Nwoye has commenced visits to traditional rulers in the state to receive their blessings and assure them of his party’s readiness for the election.

Nwoye and his campaign train yesterday, visited the monarch of Obosi Kingdom, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, who prayed for his success and assured him of his support.

Also, he visited Idemili North and South, the constituency of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Chris Ngige, to solicit for the people’s votes.

Speaking to newsmen, Nwoye said he was not bothered about the short period he has to campaign, saying the people of the state were solidly behind him.

He words: “I am not bothered at all, we are going into the November 16 election fully prepared. This is the only time PDP has prepared well for such election in this state and we are ready to show the people that Anambra belongs to PDP.

“But first of all, I must thank the people of the state for the solidarity they have given me since all the struggles and I want them to show the love during the election, I pray that God will bless them for the support.”

My wife has some medical challenges- Gov. Sullivan Chime.

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has vowed to protect the integrity of his wife, Mrs. Clara Chime who has denied sending any petition to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) alleging unlawful detention by her husband.
Mrs. Chime also denied contacting or engaging the services of Mr. Femi Falana or any other lawyer to seek her freedom from an alleged incarceration at Government House Enugu as the latter claimed in his letter to media houses and the Inspector-General of Police.
The governor and Mrs. Chime spoke to journalists, Tuesday night, at the Government Lodge, Enugu in the presence of Mrs. Chime’s elder brother, Mr. Tony Igwe, the governor’s siblings, Mrs. May Oji and Dr. Jide Chime as well as Mrs. Chime’s neuro-psychiatric doctor, Dr. Aham Agumuo among few others. Governor Chime noted it was quite heart-aching for him to speak out publicly about his wife’s health challenges but insisted that he would do everything no matter the personal pains to protect her from ridicule.
“Well, my wife has some medical challenges and it would be very unkind for me to talk about her condition on the pages of newspapers,” the governor said. “I’ve done everything to protect her integrity and I’m not now going to expose her to ridicule because some people want to exploit her situation to drag me into a needless war of words.
“We’ve been battling this (Clara’s health challenges) prior to my inauguration in 2011. It was so bad at a time that she had to be taken out of here (Governor’s Lodge) for treatment. When she stabilized, I pleaded with her doctors if she could be brought back here to be receiving her treatment at home and they graciously accepted.
“There was a time she was confined indoors and that was strictly on her doctors’ advice. She’s here and she can confirm or deny it. Also, the doctors then advised against allowing her access to telephones and laptop.”
At this point, the governor paused, heaved a deep sigh and continued his emotional narration. “I cannot say or do anything to undermine her dignity. She is, first and foremost, my wife. The big blunder I committed was allowing her access to the telephone and her laptop, against the advice of her doctor. I’m paying dearly for that today, going by what is happening now.
“Her brother is here, her doctor is here with us too. You people (journalists) can confirm anything you want from them, either here and at your convenience. Would I have been a better husband if I asked her to leave the Lodge because of her medical challenge? Would it not have been more convenient for me if I allowed her to stay and be treated in the hospital?
“But like I said earlier, I wanted the best for her and that’s why I pleaded with the doctors to have her treated at home. That’s also why I allowed her access to her telephone and laptop which unfortunately led to the stage where I’m now being falsely accused of imprisoning or detaining my own wife.”
For quite a long time, Mrs. Chime could not speak, despite persuasions from her husband and brother. At a point, her brother, Tony Igwe took her to an adjacent room where they spent few our minutes before returning to join others.
Igwe now assured the rest people that she was willing to talk but it was another round of silence.
At last, Mrs. Chime said: “you (referring to the governor) and my doctor can speak on my behalf.” The governor politely replied: “yes, I’m your husband and should ordinarily do so but you know I’m the one being accused of detaining you. This way, I’ve lost that privilege to speak for you, at least on this case. The story out there also is that your doctor is probably scared of me and gives you all kinds of drugs, sometimes against your wish.”
The wife of the governor said: “My doctor and I don’t have any problem.” On the petition to the National Human Rights Commission, Mrs. Chime corroborated an earlier text message she had sent to her husband that she had not met Falana or engaged him to seek her release from a purported unlawful custody.
Rather, she admitted that she wrote a letter to her doctor, Dr. Agumuo and another doctor overseas whom she was introduced to and wondered how the letter leaked to the public.
She also admitted that she was once confined to a room without access to her telephone and laptop. “That was when I had a serious crisis,” she says. Mrs. Chime also confirmed that she has the key to her room and controls her entry and exit, contrary to the claim in the petition that she had been locked up for asking to be allowed to leave.
Her grouse was that she had not been allowed to leave the premises, though she attended mass even last Sunday.
Governor Chime chipped in: “All I want to reassure you is that she is safe here. Her confinement
within the premises for now is at the instance of her doctor who is here. Why would I want my wife locked up? If it had been that I had issues with her, there are many ways to resolve them. But that’s not the case. She is not well and I’m willing to do anything to support and protect her.
“It was always more convenient for me to have taken the easier route but that would have been very callous and ungodly. When I had my own health challenge, I was receiving treatment in London and thinking about her, making sure she received the right treatment. I’m forever grateful to her doctors who have done a great job. Both families are billed to meet very soon and after that, I’ll take a decision which will be in the interest of both parties.”
On his reaction to the petition to the IGP by Falana, the governor said: “He’s my professional colleague but sometimes you leave people to their conscience. I won’t join words with him. Has he met this client of his as he claimed to assess her state of mind and determine if she can give him the right brief to guide his case? Did he ask for access to her or to me and was denied? I leave it at that.
“That’s the penalty you face as a public officer. When I was receiving treatment in London, some of the newspapers reported that I had died in India. I’ve never been to India and had never applied for an Indian visa. Today, the story is that I’ve imprisoned my own wife in my residence.
I know their motives but I wish those behind such wicked tales well.”

Davido's management releases an official statement on the fight that ensued at the club.

In reply of the news and tweets that Davido and his body guard beat up people in a club Sunday night, Davido's management has released an official statement and pictures of his stabbed bodyguard, to clear the air. Read the Official Statement below:

After a successful outing at a recent concert on Sunday November 3 at Eko Hotels, popular musician Davido headed to the Grotto Nightclub on Victoria Island. After a brief stay at the club, Davido and his crew proceeded to his vehicle outside to head home.

Upon entering the vehicle, he realized that his ATM card was missing. His body guard Tijani Olamilekan Ogbeide better known as Teejay got down from the vehicle to search for the ATM card in the club.

Upon alighting, he was accosted by an already drunk “DJ Jay Dee” who had in his hand a champagne flute. This DJ Jaydee informed Teejay that he had the ATM card in his hand and would like to personally deliver it to Davido.

Teejay politely asked him to hand over the ATM card as it was clear that Davido was right in his view in his car. DJ Jaydee refused to hand over the card without payment and instead proceeded to shout that he knew who Davido was personally and that he (DJ Jaydee) was a known person in Lagos.

Teejay refused him access to Davido which led DJ Jaydee to throw the ATM card on the ground in anger. As Teejay bent to retrieve the card, DJ Jaydee stabbed him in the neck with the champagne flute he was holding.

An oblivious Teejay threw him off his back and proceeded to return the ATM card to Davido. As he was entering the car to leave, one of the occupants noticed the stab wounds and called his attention to the blood. Teejay promptly alighted from the car and went to confront DJ Jaydee who was still yelling outside.

DJ Jaydee apparently not done with his violence stabbed the bodyguard a second time, this time on his hands and ran off into the club. Teejay searched for him to no avail and left the club soon after.

Tijani Olamilekan Ogbeide has since reported the matter to the police and they have been to the club to invite DJ Jaydee for questioning. Grotto has been unable to deliver DJ Jaydee to the police, instead malicious and falsified accounts of the incident have found their way on social media portals being championed of course by sources intent on casting vile aspersions on Davido  and his bodyguard

Teejay.

DJ Jaydee is yet to surface. Tijani Olamilekan Ogbeide has pressed charges to this effect.

Davido’s management categorically refutes all the allegations of violence as insinuated by some. Teejay was carrying out his job by restricting access to Davido from an unknown and obviously inebriated and violent individual.

He performed his duties as bodyguard and instead of resorting to violence, followed the dictates of the law. Members of the public and fans should please note that Davido was not present at this unfortunate incident that occurred that night as erroneously reported in a few quarters.

Thank You

ASUU strike might be called off next week.

Initially I reported that the result of the ASUU strike marathon meeting on Monday night/Tuesday morning wasn't made known to our reporter, however here are the exclusive details of the agreement reached by both the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities and President Goodluck Jonathan...

The key component of the agreement reached by the parties was that the Federal Government would inject N1.1trillion into public universities in the next five years.

A reliable source, who made this known, also hinted that the strike would be called off anytime next week.

He  said the government team which was led by President Goodluck Jonathan would release   N220billion yearly into the sector beginning from 2014.

The source added, “The meeting should be the longest that we have ever had on this crisis but I can tell you that both parties were frank all through the discussions. The parties also showed commitment towards ending the crisis. The President in particular showed that he was serious about ending the strike and that was why he offered to release over N1tn to the universities in the next five years. The money will be released on a yearly basis at N220billion per annum beginning from 2014. For the outgoing year, the  government will only release N100bn and this has been processed.”

He said that the government, in order to show its commitment to a fresh pact, accepted that “the fund(N1.1tn) should   domiciled at the Central Bank  of Nigeria”
“The  money will be released on a quarterly basis to the universities. So, there won’t be any problem about funding the deal,” the source said.

The National Universities Commission and the Trade Union Congress, according to him, will    be the  joint guarantors  of  the  agreement while the Minister of Education will  be the implementation officer.

The source also said  that the government   agreed among other things, to revamp the public universities by ensuring that all those issues that always led to strike were dealt with once and for all.

It was  learnt that the negotiating team of ASUU  led by  Dr. Nassir Faggae met on Tuesday night to further  deliberate on the  deal.Though the details of the meeting  were  not known as of 11.22pm on Tuesday, it was gathered that ASUU might call a National Executive Council meeting on or before Saturday where the   deal would be tabled  before  all its  branch executives.

Hopefully the strike will be called off some time next week then.

Embattled Aviation Minister's Airport rehabilitation project an elaborate scam.

Newly renovated Murtala Mohammed Airport ln Lagos is leaking

As investigations of the alleged #255million car bought for the Aviation minister, Stella Oduah goes on, a lot of truths have been unravelled. It has been discovered that her so called project to rehabilitate the airport which had cost billions of naira, was just a means to gulp government funds.

According to Sahara reports:

As investigations progress into Aviation Minister Stella Adaeze Oduah’s scandalous purchase of two BMW armored cars that cost N255 million, members of the National Union of Air Transport Employees have called for a proper probe of the Aviation Ministry’s airport rehabilitation projects, describing them as an elaborate scam.

The embattled minister initiated extensive airport rehabilitation and remodeling projects that have gulped billions of naira.
Earlier, SaharaReporters had reported that the air workers union had written a petition to the Nigerian Senate in July. The petition portrayed the airport rehabilitation projects as a cesspool of corruption.

In the petition, the union accused the minister of personally benefiting from two-phase projects designed for the remodeling of eleven airports in the country. The petition alleged that the minister used N7 billion from the Federal Government’s 2012 appropriations as well as another N1 billion from internally generated revenue of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), an agency under the Aviation Ministry.

Ms. Oduah had reportedly asked the Ministerial Tenders Board to approve her plan to use a two-phased rehabilitation exercise. The petition alleged that the minister had awarded consultancy jobs to three crony firms in the last quarter of 2011 without advertisement or evidence of “no objection” from the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). Instead, the minister allegedly awarded the contracts with the confidence that she would retroactively obtain the certificates of “no-objection” for the crony consultancy firms that received the contracts.

The N255.7 million contracts went to Messrs. Ngonyama Okpanum and Associates; Messrs. Design Union Consulting Limited, and Messrs. Triad Associates Limited, which received N99 million, N60.9 million, and N95.5 million respectively.
The air transport workers alleged that no comprehensive reports on the consultancy services were ever presented during any meeting at the tenders’ board level.

After getting away with the questionable methods for awarding consultancy contracts, the minister reportedly boasted at a tenders’ board meeting that she had obtained President Goodluck Jonathan’s approval to adopt a selective tender method for determining the contractors to execute the upgrade and rehabilitation projects at the eleven airports in 2012.
The petitioners said Ms. Oduah cajoled the tenders’ board to approve her predetermined list of companies for the contracts. In a letter which Ms. Oduah used FAAN to write to the BPP, the minister cited “urgency” as her basis for seeking selective tender method for the upgrade and rehabilitation of airports.
“Rehabilitation and upgrade do not qualify as emergency that call for urgency,” wrote the airport workers in their petition obtained by SaharaReporters.

An executive of the Tenders’ Board told SaharaReporters that the minister and her associates “said it was for urgency that they elected the selective tender method and stipulated six months [as the duration of the projects], but it is now over two years and you can see their basis for selective tender is defeated. This is properly a case of fraud.”
Citing a violation of section 40-42 of the Public Procurement Act, the workers argued that selective tendering would be justifiable for the award of contracts that require some peculiar expertise available only to a select few companies.
“Renovation of terminal buildings falls short of this requirement, but BPP approved it for Selective Tendering (notwithstanding),” the petition said.

SaharaReporters also saw a letter written by BPP to FAAN giving approval for the desired selective tender method on the reasons, which the workers’ petition now faults.

In a curious development, the petitioning workers disclosed that the companies listed for the selective tender were not the same companies on site. A source in the union told SaharaReporters that Ms. Oduah substituted the companies she secured selective approval for at the BPP with other ones that eventually went on the site, without going back to the BPP for fresh approval of the companies that are eventually carrying out the projects.

“It seems as if the initial companies did not settle the minister to her satisfaction, hence her decision to bring in other companies to do the job,” the unionist told our correspondent.

The workers also disclosed that the contracts, which were most likely inflated due to the undue advantage of selective
award to crony firms, were yet to be completed when Ms. Oduah appeared again at the tenders’ board, seeking approval
for the “second phase.”

The workers’ petition to Senate asserted that “the contracts listed in the phase-two are [a] repetition of the same contracts described in phase-one earlier approved.” They contended that the rates in Phase-Two were even more inflated.
In the petition, which the Senate leadership has failed to address since receiving it in July, the workers stated, for example, that “Zakhem Construction Nig. Ltd was awarded the contract for upgrade of [Murtala Muhammed International Airport] Lagos in the 1st phase at the sum of N920,191,147.58. Curiously, [the] same company was awarded another contract in the tune of N981,900,300.45 for ‘upgrade and rehabilitation’ of MMIA Lagos, under a spurious banner of Phase II.
"One of the documents obtained by SaharaReporters shows that the ministry quoted N270.261 million for direct procurement of an “emergency relocation” of Airside Power House/Associated Equipment at E-Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos. The direct procurement was prepared in favor of a certain Messrs. Gamji Nigeria Ltd.

“Our minister has a tradition of starting something with [a] minimum of N255 million, just as the sham consultancy jobs for airport rehabilitation, and it is trite to remind of the N255 million BMW cars,” an air transport worker stated.
“All she seems to care about is amassing wealth for herself and her cronies while planes occasionally drop from Nigerian skies,” an Abuja-based transparency advocate said.

Davido and his bodyguards beat up people at a club.

Davido was, last weekend, involved in a club fight that allegedly left about 7 people injured, with property damaged.

According to an eye witness, Davido and his bodyguards had gone to party at Nu Grotto night club, Victoria Island, after performing at the #Colourfulworldofmore concert held at Eko Hotel and Suites.

They had bought 4 Necter Rose, 3 Hennessy VSOP. About 2 bouncers were in charge of his security. They all sat down while Davido was standing on the sofa, ‘turning up’ with friends.

Later on, the club DJ, Dj JD noticed Davido's ATM card had fallen off, so JD picked it up and tried handing it back to Davido but he was harassed by Davido's bouncers.

Not finding it funny, JD reportedly lashed back at the bouncers who now got angry and replied JD with some hot slaps! The DJ being a Lagos street boy, retaliated.

JD allegedly hit Davido’s bouncer's face with the brandy glass he was holding (Dj Jd is about 4″4, and Davido’s bouncer is about 6″ tall, #DavidAnd Goliath things) Davido's bodyguard started bleeding through his neck.

With the annoyance he reportedly forced his way into the club, beat up grotto’s chief bouncer–Big
Sam, grabbed bottles and flung them in the club, which in turn injured about four club goers.

Dbanj and Tonto Dikeh in something?

So I heard Tonto Dikeh and D'banj have gotten quite 'close' recently and that she has been seen severally at D'banj's home in Lekki. She's recording songs at the studio in his house and whenever she records late into the night, she spends the night there #coughs... hehe.

Some people have seen and interacted with Tonto at D'banj's place and some even think she's his current babe because of how much time she spends there and some of the 'things' the two stars do, but me I don't know that one oh, all I know is that she spends time there to further her music career and I do not know if D'banj is planning to sign her to his record label but he once said that if he signs her, she will blow!

Meanwhile, I hear the new song Tonto is recording at D'banj's studio is a banger. We dey wait to hear am! Oh and by the way, Tonto Dikeh once dated Don Jazzy! #lipssealed #okbye

Baby face producer, Shizzle speaks out as Wanda Coal releases his studio demo of Baby face with Don Jazzy.

Sheyi 'Shizzi' Akerele, who produced Wande Coal's version of the controversial
song 'Baby Face', which Don Jazzy says was stolen from him, has released a statement explaining his involvement in the whole issue. He also mentions that he produced Wande's hit song 'Go Low' which he never got credit for. See his statement below...

I have heard and seen some folks rants about me stealing production credit for Wande Coal's new single "Baby Face" and I would like to clarify this issue. I was only doing my job by making the beat for Wande and that's what I did. I don't see any reason why people should jump into quick conclusions without taking their time to really dig into the matter for facts.
Two years back, I remember I created a demo for Wande Coal's "Shawty Go Low" and someone else took the credits. I was in shock because I had plans to finish the song with Wande and was hoping it would be released as a single which I produced. Here is the link to the original version of "Go Low"
http://www.hulkshare.com/iamshizzi/wande-coal-angel-in-dis-world-freestyle

The drama doesn't stop there, as Wande Coal also explains that he did a studio demo of the controversial song "baby face" with Don Jazzy last year too. See Wande Coal's tweet below:

Boko Haram committee submits report to GEJ.

The Presidential Committee set up by President Goodluck Jonathan to dialogue with the Boko Haram dreaded sect has submitted its report to the President.
The committee which had spent 7 months travelling round Northern Nigeria trying to get the leaders of the sect to stop their widely condemned act admitted that the leadership of the insurgent group refused to have any dialogue with them despite all their efforts.
Chairman of the committee, Kabiru Turaki said, “Some of our difficulties in having a productive dialogue include the refusal of their leaders to submit to dialogue. However, many of the key members of the insurgents both in detention and at large have positively responded to contacts and have accepted the dialogue option as capable of full resolution of the conflict.”
It was in this vain that the committee recommended that the President should set up an advisory committee on continuous dialogue to continue from where they stopped.
Receiving the report, President Jonathan said that Government will look into all the recommendations, promising to set up a committee to follow up on the dialogue.
The president however told them that government will rather provide assistance to the victims of the attacks rather than compensations.
Following Boko Haram attacks and the attendant insecurity in the land, Nigeria’s President had in April 2013 set up the committee on dialogue and peaceful resolution of security challenges in the North.
Although the committee is winding up, President Jonathan has said that the Nigerian Government remains open to dialogue.

The Nigerian Police Force dismisses officer who raped a 2year old child.

The Nigeria Police Force has frowned at reports that it is shielding the officer who allegedly raped a two-year-old girl, insisting that he had been dismissed from the force.
Anthony Onoja, a police corporal, allegedly raped the toddler at Kabayi, Mararaba in Nasarawa State, a few months ago.
During a Senate plenary, last week, the House expressed disappointment over the inability of the police to provide information on the cause of action it took since the incident was reported.
The Senate also accused the police of failing to charge the suspect to court.
But in a statement on Tuesday, the police said that it found it “rather preposterous,” that Nigerians would insinuate that the Force concealed and condoned Mr. Onoja’s action.
After an orderly room trial – an in-house administrative disciplinary panel – the officer was dismissed on September 13 and charged to court two days later for the offence of rape, under charge sheet No. NSD/77C/2013, the police said.
The police, noting that it was a self-cleansing institution, said it discovered that the Mr. Onoja’s action was unbecoming of a police officer.
“A full scale criminal investigation of the alleged offence of rape was conducted by the Anti-Human Rights Section of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Nasarawa State Police Command,” the police said in a statement signed by Frank Mba, the Police Public Relations Officer.
“The Case Diary was subsequently forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice, for legal advice. Based on the advice of the DPP, Anthony Onoja was charged to High Court 3 in Nasarawa State.
“The prosecution of the ex-Police Corporal is being conducted by the Office of the DPP and is on-going. These facts can be verified by any Nigerian or group who wishes to so do.”
Mr. Mba, a Chief Superintendent of Police, appealed to Nigerians not to use the “singular” misdeed to render a blanket judgment against its officers.
“Without fear of contradiction, the Nigeria Police Force remains one of the most self cleansing institutions in the country and has always disciplined its erring personnel without any prompting from any quarter,” Mr. Mba said.
“While the present Police Administration is determined to pursue the Reformation agenda of the Force, with the objective of bequeathing a People friendly Police for Nigerians, it will be necessary to remind all that this task demands a collective effort.”

Don Jazzy and Wande Coal do the twitter fight.

Who ever thought that these two could get this ugly and even on a social network?

The "original producer" Don jazzy and "the original black diamond" Wande Coal took to twitter this evening to iron out their ugly issues.

Don Jazzy who was Wande Coal's producer under the famous Mavin Records before he (Wande Coal) broke away to form his own record label "Black Diamond Records" seemed hurt as he took to twitter to tell the world that Coal stole his new hit, Baby face him (Don Jazzy). He even posted a link to his own baby face studio demo which he claimed to have done a year ago. See tweets below:

Not quite long, Coal replies. See below:

"Break away" PDP Governors' jet grounded in Abuja.

This is getting as serious as you can't imagine, for how long will this battle last?

According to Sahara reports:
Nigerian aviation authorities in Abuja today briefly grounded a private jet that was supposed to ferry some governors and politicians belonging to the break-away faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Lagos en route Abeokuta. SaharaReporters learnt that the members of the new PDP were about to fly to Lagos on their way to a meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
A spokesman for the new PDP told SaharaReporters that the temporary grounding of the jet was “part of the Jonathan administration’s desperate war against us.” He added, “We will not be deterred in our struggle to enthrone true democracy within the PDP.”
The source added that this was not the first time the Ministry of Aviation was being used to ground a jet used by opposition figures within the party, citing the withdrawal of the flying privileges of a jet owned by Rivers State government.
When SaharaReporters made inquiries about the reasons for today’s brief grounding, two Nigerian aviation officials gave conflicting responses. The Aviation Ministry’s General Manager, Yakubu Datti, told SaharaReporters over the phone that the ministry was not involved at all in any delay of the flight. He claimed that the problem arose purely from a disagreement between the jet owners and the politicians, insisting that the issue had nothing to do with the aviation authorities.
However, Joe Obi, the spokesperson for embattled Aviation Minister Stella Oduah, offered a different account in an email to SaharaReporters. His email stated that the jet was briefly stopped from taking off in order to ascertain the pilot’s flight plans and to make other routine checks in accordance with aviation practices all over the world. He emphasized that the plane had since been cleared to fly.
Today’s brief grounding came on the heels of yesterday’s disruption of a meeting of the new PDP by a police team led by a plain-clothed Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Asokoro police station. The DPO laid siege on the Kano State Government Lodge in Abuja, the venue of the meeting by five governors who have rejected the PDP faction led by Bamanga Tukur. When the five governors and other participants at the meeting resisted the order to shut down their meeting, the DPO called for police back-up. However, a source at the meeting told SaharaReporters that they tricked the police into believing the meeting had just started when in fact it was ending.
SaharaReporters learnt that the Lagos-bound dissident governors were visiting Mr. Obasanjo to confer with him on a number of political issues. Former President Obasanjo has been estranged from President Goodluck Jonathan, and is believed to be advocating for the election of a president from the northern section of Nigeria in the 2015 presidential election.

Shopping complex collapses in Lagos: 3killed, 5injured and 10 rescued.

A five-storey shopping complex under-construction at 9,  Muri Okunola Street, in  Eti-Osa Local Government Area, yesterday, collapsed killing at least three persons and injuring 15 others.

At the scene were officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Red Cross and men of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, attached to the Maroko Station, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC battling to rescue trapped victims from under the debris.

Of the 15 rescued, five are said to be in critical conditions and have been admitted at the Accident and Emergency Centre, Toll Gate, Ikeja while others were admitted at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, hospital, few metres away from the scene. It was learnt that the construction workers were casting the decking and the pillars when the building caved-in on them at about 4:00p.m.

An eyewitness, Mr. Adetayo Olaseni stated: “The building collapsed at about 4:00p.m. while construction works were still ongoing. This led to pandemonium, as everyone scampered for safety.”

Another eye-witness, Miss Blessing Osundare said: “I  heard a loud bang and all I saw was that the entire building had collapsed on the workers. While some escaped unhurt, others are still trapped under the debris.
“I can’t say this is the number of people here, but I know that they were more than 60 persons working at the site.”

Confirming the tragedy, the General Manager of  LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu said: “A twin four-storey building located at Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island collapsed.”
“Fifteen persons have been rescued so far while three corpses  have been recovered from the debris.
“Rescue operations are still on-going and we are assuring residents that they should not panic. We are on top of the issue.” See pictures below:

Ngige says Obi should take responsibility for stampede.

APC candidate, Dr Chris Ngige and the incumbent governor on November3, engaged in a war of words over the tragedy at the Adoration Ground last weekend.

Ngige whose reaction was contained in a statement signed  by the Director of Media and  Publicity of the  Chris Ngige Campaign Organisation,  Chief Charles Amilo,  blasted  Gov. Obi  noting that the traditional recourse of blaming Sen. Ngige each time he (Obi)  fails in one department of leadership or governance, should be a worn out excuse by now, which  would certainly not work in the very serious circumstance at hand’

Sen Ngige, neither attended the crusade, knew nothing  about it, nor received the report of the incident at the  crusade in good time.

If Ndi Anambra who are not necessarily politicians spontaneously rejected Gov. Obi and his handpicked stooge  during the night  vigil, considering that Obi and his   APGA team in  uniform  barged  into their communion with God  with fliers and sirens, and tear gas, why should Obi now blame Ngige?

Ngige   therefore invited Gov Obi to rise to the responsibility of Governance in the remaining part of his tenure by promptly explaining to Ndi Anambra what his security details were reported to have done to create a stampede in the  place of worship, as further obfuscation of facts  from his government may build avoidable tension’

Shekau in a video says he led Damaturu attack.

The leader of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, also known as Boko Haram, Imam Abubakar Shekau, on whose head United States place a $7 million ransom appeared in a new video, on November 3, saying he personally led recent attacks in Damaturu, Yobe State on October 24th 2013.

A military source who watched the new video in Damaturu told SaharaReporters that, Imam Shekau boasted of overrunning Nigerian military, explaining that the sect will triumph over military and put in place Islamic government under Allah’s descriptions, despite Nigeria’s government resistance.

Also, Shekau displays a cache of arms including AK47 guns, RPGs and a large sum of ammunition, he claimed the sect seized from Nigerian troops.

Shekau in the video also disclosed that the Damaturu attack was one of the sects most successful operations as it killed several Nigerian soldiers.

He further took a swipe at the government sanctioned “Dialogue and Amnesty Committee” led by Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki claiming it was a deceitful plot aimed at creating division within the Boko Haram sect.

He added that they do not know the committee and have had nothing to do with it.
Shekau was silent on the attack on a wedding convoy that left about 30 people dead during the weekend, which was today refuted by 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri.

This is his third appearance in a video after the military declared him dead in July.

Enugu state First Lady, Clara Chime, hires lawyer to secure release from husband's arrest.

From Sahara reports:
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has asked the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. MD Abubakar, to ensure the immediate release from unlawful detention of Mrs. Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State who is being held hostage at Government House Enugu by Governor Sullivan Chime, or be dragged to court.

In a letter dated November 1, 2013, Mr. Falana, representing Mrs. Chime, pointed out that his client has been kept incommunicado in solitary confinement for over four months on the directives of Governor Chime.

“Thus our client’s fundamental rights to the dignity of her person, personal liberty, fair hearing, private and family life and freedom of movement guaranteed by the Constitution and the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 have been violated without any legal justification,” it said.
“Although our client’s dehumanizing detention conditions have had deleterious effects on her psychological state as well as her mental and physical health she has been denied access to her doctors by her abductors,” the petition said.  “It is particularly disturbing to note that some of the police and state security service personnel assigned to secure the safety of the Enugu State governor, his wife and other family members have aided and abetted Mr. Chime in subjecting our client to egregious infringements of her aforesaid fundamental rights.”

It pointed out, however, that unlike the governor who is currently immune from prosecution under the constitution, the police and state security service officials involved in the illegal arrest and detention of Mrs. Chime ought to be sanctioned under the relevant laws.
In a letter exclusively published by SaharaReporters on October 28, Mrs. Chime complained that Governor Chime had placed her under house arrest, and begged human rights bodies to come to her rescue.

She said that eminent personalities such as President and Mrs. Goodluck Jonathan and the Bishop Callistus Onaga of Enugu State and other top priests had attempted to intervene in the matter without success.

Among other things, Mrs. Chime said she had been introduced to two psychiatrists, Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations.”

Still on the matter: ASUU strike.

A crucial meeting between the leadership of the striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities and President Goodluck Jonathan has dragged into the late nightie yesterday, November 4, without words on whether a truce was in sight.
It was the first meeting between the union and President Jonathan since the strike began 1 July, shutting down almost all state and Federal government owned universities in Nigeria.
The Federal Government had initially offered the striking teachers N30billion to pay for allowances piled up since government and the union hammered out an agreement in 2009. Government also offered N100billion to pay for improvements of facilities in the universities.
ASUU rejected the offer as too small and insisted on government implementing in full the 2009 agreement.

The negotiation with the president’s team reportedly went on a short break at about6.30 p.m.
The meeting started in the afternoon, at about 2:40 pm inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
On the President’s negotiating team are the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, who had held a deadlocked meeting with ASUU in the past, Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim; Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike; and Minister of Labour, Emeka Wogu among others.

The ASUU team is led by its Chairman, Dr. Nasir Isa Fagge, Prof. Abdulahi Sule-Kano, Prof. Dipo Fashina and Prof. Festus Iyayi, Prof. Suleiman Abdul, and Prof. Abdullahi Sule-Kano.
Also at the meeting are the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Abdulawahid Omar and that of the Trade Union Congress, Bobboi Kaigama.

In banters with the ASUU team, President Jonathan while shaking hands with Fagge said:
“My president, I hope it will end today. Our children have suffered enough. We must find a solution.”
All those in attendance responded with a loud “amen.”
Jonathan also expressed similar optimism when he greeted the NLC president:
“My president with you around today, there will be no problem, our agreement is signed, sealed and delivered.”

However, see the synopsis of ASUU demands below:

The agreement included details such as the breakdown of lecturers’ salary structure, staff loans, pension, overtime, and moderation of examinations.
Part of the agreement dwelt on funding of universities where both parties agreed that each federal university should get at least N1.5 trillion between 2009 and 2011 while state universities, within the same period, should receive N3.6 million per student.
The agreement also had parts that asked the re-negotiation committee to ensure that at least 26 percent of Nigeria’s annual budget was allocated to education, and half of that allocation to universities.
The agreement also asked that the 2004 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Act, and the National University Commission Act 2004, be amended.
Text of the suggested amendment bills – including suggestion for amendment of the Education (National Minimum Standards and Establishment of Institutions) Act 2004 – were provided in the agreements.
The agreement was signed by Bolanle Babalakin, the then chairman of Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Federal Universities; Gamaliel Onosode, chairman of the re-negotiation committee; and Ukachukwu Awuzei, the then president of ASUU.
The agreement demanded a heavy financial commitment from the government and was an adaptation of an earlier agreement reached in 2001.
It is unclear how much of the agreement have been implemented by the government.
However, the secretary to the federation, Pius Anyim, after one of the recent failed negotiations, said that most of the issues contained in the 2009 agreement, had been fully met except for the earned allowances estimated at N92 billion.
“Some of the issues which bothered on amendment of pensionable retirement age of academics in the professorial cadre, consolidated peculiar allowances (CONPUAA)- exclusively for university teaching staff, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), setting up of budget monitoring committee in all public universities have been fully implemented,” he disclosed.

Taraba State's House of Assembly speaker dead!

The Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Haruna Tsokwa, has been declared dead. He slumped early this morning and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
