Is Lil Wayne, at 32, finally ready to leave the nest? Or will the longtime collaborators find a solution and give us a "Carter V" for Christmas?
In a startling series of tweets, Lil Wayne says that "Tha Carter V" won't be coming out on the expected release date, blaming Cash Money and Birdman for making him a "prisoner."
In his lengthy career, Lil Wayne has rarely (if ever) publicly said anything about Birdman, the man he often calls "daddy," so with that in mind, the tweets he just sent out are shocking. In an action that could be deemed "pulling a Tyga," Wayne just admonished his label and its CEO in a series of tweets that, among other things, reveal that we probably won't be getting Tha Carter V anytime soon.
"To all my fans," he wrote, "I want u to know that my album won't and hasn't been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it."

"This is not my fault," he went on to say. "I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation. I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain't that easy. I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again, I am truly sorry and I don't blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u."
