A 35year old man has being arrested by the police in Bauchi for allegedly infecting a 12-year-old girl with HIV.
This was made news in a press statement by Haruna Mohammed, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state. In the statement Haruna revealed that the 35year old man had been HIV positive and on medication since 2004. The statement further revealed that the suspect had been having series of sexual intercourse with the girl, who is a groundnut hawker, repeatedly since 2012, adding that the girl was diagnosed with the disease when she started having strange symptoms. ''On the 14/10/2014 at about 17:30hrs, one Sabo Korau, male and 35-year-old of Unguwan Dawaki, Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State was arrested for having series of sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl repeatedly since 2012,until now when victim began to show sign of strange symptoms.
