The Next Rated category, arguably the most famous and keenly contested category in the Headies Awards, is meant to spotlight the next artiste to make a mark in the mainstream. It is one of the pioneer categories created when the Headies, formerly known as Hip Hop World Awards, was established in 2006 and has been won by the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Sean Tizzle in the past.
